You Were Never Really Here

Yes.

Lynn Ramsay is exceptional with every movie she makes.

Joaquin is the greatest actor a live today. He's better than DDL.

This was intimate, moving, violent, subtle, powerful, and features a beautiful score by Jonny Greenwood.

I loved every second of it. Can't stop thinking about it.

In the Name of the Father is the movie with Daniel Day-Lewis where I finally understood why people call him the greatest actor of his generation.

I recently watched Dead Ringers where Jeremy Irons plays a couple of twin gynecologist. They have this working dynamic until a certain woman enters their lives and things turn crazy. It's a drama with some typical Cronenbergian themes / touches, though not quite as many as usual.

The movie was better than expected to be honest, actually very good, and I was pleasantly surprised with Jeremy Irons' acting chops which turned out impressive. I mostly associate him with stuff like the dreaded Dungeons & Dragons movie from the early 2000s. Well worth a watch.

I'd check it out. Jeremy Irons has a beautiful voice and you can't go wrong with anything remotely Cronenberg.

My wife and I watched this on Amazon Prime - we went into it thinking it was a documentary on a real missing persons case - and it sold us on that and got us invested. By the end though, my poor wife was in a near panic attack because of how crazy it got and it was around that point when I realized "Oh, this is a found footage mockumentary type movie". She hates scary movies, so I'd have never managed to get her to watch it with me if I knew and told her it was a horror movie. Great movie though.
