Jupiter Ascending (2015) - The Wachowskis

It was pretty dumb but not as dumb as Sense8. Film-wise, the worst, least original and least fun thing they've ever done. But the world they've imagined is pretty interesting. If they had case someone other than Mila Kunis, it may have been a slightly better experience. Not sure why that woman has a career in Hollywood to be honest. She is neither a good actress nor very interesting. Plus that weird, distracting cracked voice! How can anyone take her seriously??

The Green Knight

I probably should have read the poem before going into this one but after researching a bit following the ending of the film, everything sort of made sense a bit more. However, even not making a 100% sense, this was a fun film. Genre bending cinematography and one of the better scores I've heard in a long time. Great visuals and acting and the pace was just right. I bet a repeat viewing will do wonders. Really cool film.

Luckily I already know the story so I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Tenet - Too much exposition and the meme about the sound editing is right, but throw on some closed captioning and it's full of awesome action set pieces and choreography. The weirdboats felt like some kind of billionaire product placement, but the armored car scene right after was the highlight of the movie. Nolan's done worse, but I'm surprised he hasn't learned from how hard the Interstellar love scene got dunked on as a lesson to improve his female characters since Kat has a lot of the same performative pitfalls. Fun overall, might watch it again to pick up on things about the timelines intersecting. Even though the mix is weird, the soundtrack still slaps btw.

What are the sound mix issues with Tenet?

Something I find weird is when movies are lathered in strange reverb, even when the characters are outside in a forest or whatever.

It has barely audible dialogue contrasted with blaring music, especially in the first half of the movie. Pretty sure they were going for realism on this aspect, but the muffled facemask dialogue came off like an amateurish oversight too.
