Interesting. A big part of what I appreciate about his work is the way he handles emotional devastation. I think he's very concerned with avoiding cliche, so maybe he cut out something that's fundamental to what you look for in movies.

Just watched "Goon" - gloriously stupid.
Have the sequel but haven't found time to watch it yet.

This was pretty wicked. A mixture of ominous atmosphere, paranoia and humour that goes completely off the rails

The Trial of the Chicago 7 was a good courtroom political drama. Everyone (even Baron Cohen) acted their part well and the story was well developed. It's like part of a trend in movies lately: American directors rewriting the 70s in political and cinematic terms. Blackkklansman is another good example (and good movie). Topher Grace as David Duke was a funny choice.

Fantastic film, so many memorable moments

South Korea makes the best movies on earth, there's just an incredible mastery of filmmaking, style, and storytelling going on over there

Hell yes, quite a lot of my favourite films are South Korean or Japanese.

Speaking of films Promising Young Woman just about killed me, what a performance. I'd die for Carey Mulligan, it's like she sparkles with a kind of sharp intelligence, and her dimples and voice ugh

Hope it's not this. I can tell already it's wack.

^^The latter is a mini-series, quite good. On Netflix.
