The concept of the middle class is the carrot on the stick poor people need to feel like they are exceptions and deserve to step on those OTHER poor people beneath them to gain small amounts of success. The oppressors have never needed to do the oppressing themselves.

Nah I loved it. I don't think he started the protest, he just interpreted it that way.

I quite liked it but at the same time I was waiting the whole time for the main character to become a recognizable Joker and it never quite happened and so that entire movie as good as it was was still a cock tease that never quite delivered on its central premise. Good but not essential.

I felt the same as you. I couldnt care less about superhero movies in general, so I had low expectations to start. It was both better and worse than what I thought it would be. I think Joaquin is good.
