Funny how you mentioned Passion of JoA suddenly reminded me of Bresson’s The Diary of A Country Priest, which, i think i like more than even Ordet. Haha. Damn aging sucks. |

Watched The Conjuring 2 the other day, and spent the whole time making fun of limey accents.

Apollo 11 at my local indie theatre. Absolutely stunning. Just published a journal entry about it, waiting for it to go live to make a minor factual correction but regardless the film was incredible.

Saw Us last night -- wildly different from what I expected, so so good! I am going to try to catch it again this weekend. Peele's attention to detail and endless easter eggs are so fun and I am here for ittttttt. All hail Queen Lupita.

Great Moments in Culture: Episode #293
One of my all-time favorite Sesame Street sketches is Cookie Moster as Alistair Cookie hosting Monsterpiece Theatre, proudly presenting his take on the most significant English language play of the 20th century - Samuel Beckett's existential tragicomedy, Waiting for Godot. May I present... "Waiting for Elmo." They seriously don't make television like this anymore. <3

After ages of it sitting unviewed on my server, I watched An Honest Liar this evening. It was inspirational, moving, and illuminating.
I may have to finally read Sagan's Demon-Haunted World next.

I've watched both in the last 24 hours and I think that Alien and Jaws deserve recognition as co-best horror movies of all time. Other movies may do some aspects of horror better than them but ultimately they're just the two best movies to watch that I would call horror movies and I find it impossible to decide between them.
