The Disaster Artist

Went in with pretty much no expectations and was really floored. The acting was incredible and I loved all of the homages to The Room throughout the film in the cinematography. They also nailed the remake element of it, they didn't have to show the side by side at the end for me to recognize that. It did have a cliched ass soundtrack that's going to make it sound dated (it already sounds dated to me), but I was really surprised and the ending even warmed my cold heart. 4.5/5

Yeah, my friend and I watched it during the short time it was in theaters. Great movie. The only part I didn't like was that really ****ing corny scene where they all start laughing at the movie.

I last watched HARD TO KILL (1990) on VHS :)

The last VHS movie I watched was Ye shou xing jing (aka Beast Cops), a surprisingly well made Hong Kong thriller. Good enough that I'd like to watch it again. It was a couple years ago, so the VHS stuff is long gone. I wonder how hard it would be to find on DVD.

John Wick. I counted 57 kills. I may be wrong - really hard to keep up.

Although this did have me uncontrollably laughing during a few scenes, overall its definitely a well made film but a lot of the jokes and gags fell embarrassingly flat. Sort of a love/hate going on. I'd say 6.5/10.

This on the other hand is fucking hysterical. Yorgo Lanthimos is one of my favorite directors that's emerged this decade. The look of this film is gorge. I'm lazy to check who the cinematographer is but what an incredible job. Very Kubrick like shots and meticulous production design. Extremely great film. 9/10

Look it was good and I was entertained throughout but when you tend to improv a whole movie (which it felt like) it seemed forced at times and a bit awkward. Taika Waititti's a great director though I'll give him that.

This blew me away. I hardly knew anything about Chet Baker and the rivalry he faced with Miles Davis and all them cool cats back in the day, but Ethan Hawke's performance as this crumbling junkie piece of shit jazz extraordinaire was incredible. It flew under the radar but critics loved it and it's on Netflix. I always knew Ethan Hawke was good, but he's great. Anything he's in I'm glued.
