Reading these commenta on the Hobbit films. I personally loved them but hated the books. So drawn out detailwise. Although I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Tolkien was discussing them with CS Lewis.
On the whole, I just hope that the rumours about a new Willow film hold out. My latest film that I saw was the Avengers: Infinity War (in 3D of course). I really liked it. I almost wished I had seen it at the local IMAX but I am kind of holding out for the new Jurassic Park fiim to pay the extra money to see it there. Some fun movies coming out soon...Deadpool2, Bohemian Rhapsody, and The Happytime murders look interesting. Last edited by Lilja; 05-19-2018 at 05:18 AM. |

Happytime Murders looks like a ripoff of Puppet Rapist and The Fuzz:

Quick trip to wiki says that Jim Henson studios started developing it the very same year that Puppet Rapist came out (2008).

Stardust is fine. Check your movie privilege, bro. Go watch something on the level of Castle of Fu Manchu or Las Vegas Massacre, and then we shall speak of pain.

Boo hoo. Judge it on it's own merits. You don't see me crying 'cause The Warriors ended up way different than Sol Yurick's novel.

No. If you're not going to bring the book to life than name it something different or add "based VERY LOOSELY on the novel by an author whose work is too complex for a dolt like me to translate to film". It felt like a hollywood cashgrab targeting fans more than a genuine attempt to recreate the novel. It's the equivalent of a band covering a song and changing the lyrics.
