The Square - 2017

Oscar nominated for best foreign language film. Everything I saw before watching this film (which wasn't much) pointed towards a surreal, art-house mind fuck. Yet this movie isn't quite that strange. It's a pretty straight-forward flick about a dude going through some mid-life crisis all the while getting ready to host this exhibition called The Square. I don't want to give anything away, but some elements of Kubrick are scattered throughout and I found it pretty great. Chula would be interested.

Yes once I watched it last night, I knew I had to watch Force Majuere. Know nothing about that film but the director is one to watch out for.

The ambiguity in the film is really well-handled. I'll have to watch it again to give you a coherent opinion on it. You need to watch some violent fetish porn to ready for yourself for this kind of film or something.
