I'd like the see Logan eventually. At least it looks like something a bit different from the rest of the series.
I see what you mean. I haven't even seen those two because I'm just too apathetic about series like these that have a trend of trying to cash in. When there's a lot of praise surrounding something, I usually try to see what the fuss is about and I'm glad that I did for Logan. That was a really interesting and poignant film.

I'll give it a go.

There's a lot of other super hero movies that I've missed as well, but I don't think I need to worry about that.

I might watch Wonder Woman some day.

Still not sure if I've missed anything by not watching any of the Captain America movies.

The Dark Knight was excellent, but I'm sure that you've seen that.

I watched around 30 minutes of Wonder Woman. Total cookie cutter bull****. The Avengers is not worth your time either.

The second and third Captain Americas are quite good. Directed by the Russos (Community, Arrested Development). They're some of the best of the Marvel films because they've got compelling villains and the plotlines work if you take out the "super people" part of the story.

Wonder Woman is literally just a standard, run of the mill superhero film and I don't know why people are blowing their load about it. Just because of Gal Gadot? Because it's the first not-****ty DC film? Because a woman directed it? Whatever the answer, it's still a completely average and predictable origin story. It's on par with Ant Man.

The first Captain America had a dull middle third but is at least okay. Winter Soldier was fantastic though. Third one was a de facto Avengers movie that was still awesome.

**** off. The first Avengers might be overrated but it was still ace, and the second one ruled, even though I seem to be one of the only people who like 2 better.

Will consider. Is it necessary to watch the first one in order to appreciate those?

Yes, I've seen all the 3 Bat Nolan movies twice. I have to say I'm not a big fan of Nolan's movie making style. Interstellar is the only one I've bothered adding to my collection, but none of them are bad.

Watched the first Avengers in the theaters way back. That made sure I'll never watch the sequel

I've heard especially the Winter Soldier mentioned as a movie that has more of a thriller feel to it and better action direction.

I guess I'm nearly falling for the hype of the Wonder Woman movie, then. People keep saying it's good, so I start to wonder (no pun intended). Also never saw Antman, because it seemed sort of lame from the trailers.

Yeahhhhhhhh unfortunately. The Russos put a lot of effort into the continuity between films (making eyes at you, Thor writers/directors), which means a lot of information carries over from The First Avenger and from The Avengers despite the first one being an average film.

Not if you've seen the first Avengers. You already know Cap is a man out of time from WW2 and no one from the first shows up in 2 or 3 as far as I remember. I still think you wouldn't like them tbh. They're standard Marvel movies that just tick the boxes better than most.

The Winter Soldier is ****ing great. The story they wrote for it doesn't require super-anybody, so structurally, it holds up really well. Also, I want to disappoint my grandparents with Sebastian Stan (but that may not factor into your own enjoyment of the film).
