I think it's because they rely on fantastical characters and worlds as opposed to making their material interesting.

The same old "heroes journey"/genre trope stuff does get old pretty quickly. Both in movies and games; when they starting rammbling on about about ancient evils and chosen one's, my eyes glaze over and my brain feels tired.

It's odd that I like Fire & Ice so much. The narrative is the least inventive, most trite fantasy plot ever conceived. I think it works more as an audiovisual experience than on a story level. It would probably be about as enjoyable to me with Hebrew language and subtitles.

I am a really big fan of Inception.

In the interests of accuracy though, there is no difference between what the artist has identified as levels 4 and limbo. They're the same place, just, Ariadne left it before she had the opportunity to lose herself there. I'm glad she paid off her student loans though.

He's just overrated in general. I do like Interstellar.

Lol, you lot are mad.

Whether you think he's 'overrated' or not, Nolan has never made a bad movie.

MicShaz, if you're looking for a fantasy movie with a bit of a difference, and that takes off the usual tropes, try Pratchett's "The Colour of Magic". I defy you not to laugh and be nodding constantly.
