glad to hear that.

Considering it's not exactly popular to talk highly about Star Wars at this forum specifically, I'd say my post is warranted. Though to be fair, you didn't read my whole post so I can understand your confusion.

I haven't seen it so I can't really comment on that. It's fine if you dig it mate, just don't break a wrist jerking yourself off about it.

While this movie has gotten some well deserved criticism, I still think it delivered what it was meant to deliver. People are complaining that the story went too far away from the original intent of Star Wars, but how the hell are they supposed to introduce new characters and develop those characters without the story being a little different. I personally love this movie and I'm looking forward to seeing it in IMAX with people at my work. I saw it a few weeks after its release, and I still enjoyed it.

I would probably still rate Rogue One as the best and The Last Jedi would be 2nd, with The Force Awakens taking 3rd place.
I haven't watched it yet. Wasn't too impressed with the two other new SW films, although I didn't exactly hate them.

The trailer and the things I've read critics say about the new one just doesn't convince me that I really need to see it.

Problem with new Star Wars is that it's all hype.

It's STAR WARS, but not really, since it's not a worldwide revelation.

I'll take my Rick and Morty any day of the week for contemporary scifi.

Yorgos Lanthimos is hands down one of my favorite modern directors. His debut album, Dogtooth, I watched it years ago but watched it again last night and has not lost a shred of insanity. The way he depicts families in his films is really unsettling, and usually disturbing. Great film, great, great film.
