Amidst a Sergio Leone marathon:
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly A Fistful Of Dollars For A Few Dollars More Once Upon A Time In America Loveeee Spaghetti Westerns. Tonight I'm also going to see Notorious and Gran Torino. Two-for-one, so I don't have to hold as high of expectations...

I don't think they can milk anything more out of the series after Hannibal Rising - I do actually like that movie but I know a lot of people consider it a disparate piece of the puzzle (or cash cow).

For Red Dragon watch Manhunter. It was the original version of the book and is a Michael Mann film. It is horribly dated in parts but is one of my favourite Horror films although it is a psychological thriller TBH. Far far superior to the car crash that was Red Dragon.

Again, I don't see the Miyazaki influence.

One of my childhood favorites. Found it in the $5 bin at Walmart and decided to buy it. It's a good story and it made me remember how much I loved the score when I was a kid.

Don Bluth is one of the most gifted animators in the world, I grew up on a lot of his films, Land Before Time, All Dogs go to Heaven, American Tail. He also worked on Disney films like Robin Hood and Pete's Dragon and the video games Dragon's Lair and Space Ace.
He's currently working on a big screen version of Dragon's Lair, I'm looking forward to it. |

Land Before Time ftw, classic. Not the sequels though, apparently there have been twelve. You can't recreate that hand-drawn animation with digital techniques really.
American Tail was good but I preferred Fievel Goes West as a kid |
