pretty good. definitely doesn't warrant the stellar reviews it's been getting but it was solid nonetheless. a really nice mixture of silly humour, campy moments, and genuinely good horror. it won't blow you away, at least it didn't for me, but it's a solid foundation for the series and immensely better than the piece of **** original that still to this day bores me to tears.

objectively speaking the new one was just made better. not saying you have to like it more, just that it was actually well written, the dialogue wasn't awkward and misplaced like the original, the overacting was kept to a minimal, it took some liberties to not follow the book word for word, etc. Quote:
