^I thought the same when I watched it and had to go searching for a dvd copy of it.
I saw The Dark Tower a few hours ago and I couldn't help feeling like it left out information to condense a bigger story into 90 mins. I just felt a bit cheated and will now have to dive into the book series to get the satisfaction I want from it.

Run All Night.
As far as this particular genre goes, great film. Some incredible camera pans that I have no clue how were pulled off. We all know the famous scene in Heat where DeNiro and Pacino meet for the first time over cups of coffee. There's a restaurant scene between Harris and Neeson that's completely in the same league.

The other two versions don't do the film full justice - especially the 'Happy Ending' one.

Well, that's not the "Happy Ending" version for sure. How long was the version you saw? Gillian's original is 142 minutes. The studio cut 10 minutes out for the theatrical release. The happy ending version is less than 100 minutes and ends with the scene out in the country where Jill and Sam make love - right before they are captured.
