These kind of films are very much the cinematic equivalent of lo-fi indie rock. I wasn't particularly a fan of this film, but it's certainly not bad as such. It feels like it's being more low budget and grainy than it needs to be. And while the lead character is likable, other supporting characters are a bit irritating. Instead watch Frances Ha for this done better.

^I thought the same when I watched it and had to go searching for a dvd copy of it.
I saw The Dark Tower a few hours ago and I couldn't help feeling like it left out information to condense a bigger story into 90 mins. I just felt a bit cheated and will now have to dive into the book series to get the satisfaction I want from it.

Run All Night.
As far as this particular genre goes, great film. Some incredible camera pans that I have no clue how were pulled off. We all know the famous scene in Heat where DeNiro and Pacino meet for the first time over cups of coffee. There's a restaurant scene between Harris and Neeson that's completely in the same league.

The other two versions don't do the film full justice - especially the 'Happy Ending' one.
