Surprisingly, well executed. A few confusing moments, the one dude's motive was either incredibly weak, or I just did not get it. Effects were great, jokes were funny (most of the time). Overall a solid movie. Not exactly a great "monster movie" though. I would have liked to have seen one more solid fight between the two, but overall Hathaway and Sudeikis did well.

When I saw it in the theater on a date, I said outloud "I didn't know this was going to be a musical." Just to get a few laughs but idk it was alright to me. I just wish they picked someone prettier than Emma Watson. She is such a plain jane to me.

A Ghost Story Interesting film that won't be enjoyed by everybody. It's a very very high focus look at the traditional ghost story. It's almost like David Lowry, who wrote and directed the film, took an idea that he had and just kind of flew off with it and filmed whatever came next in his mind. That isn't to say that's a bad thing but it certainly wasn't a very solid script and I'll be the first one to admit that he lost me a few times. The times he didn't though were very unique and captivating. Rooney Mara is incredible as always and the camera work in this was especially impressive. I just didn't really follow his train of thought the whole way through and I'm pretty sure that was to be intended. Definitely worth a shot if you have it playing near you but be warned, it's an experiment that has highs and lows. My screening even had a few walkouts. I'll still give it a 3/5 because I enjoyed the first half of the film so much. |

I actually really wanted to see that when I saw the trailer in theaters. It looked so cool and unique.
