Agreed, I thought it was a really great premise. Goodman's character's kidnapper/protector dynamic that made the two seamlessly connected instead of separate traits was incredibly fascinating. I thought that it fizzled out on a few of the plot points that it opened itself up to but enjoyed the ending regardless.

Spoiler for another reason to love it:
It doesn't zero in on Stockholm syndrome, which would have been an incredibly easy direction for the movie to take. It nade it a more dynamic product in the end.

Took me a while to connect Emmitt with the psycho in Hush.

Sicario, again.

The scene with Blunt and Brolin after she comes out of the tunnel....

The scene with Del Toro and the Mexican family having dinner....

The scene with Del Toro and Blunt at the end....

It just doesn't get any better. Brilliant filmmaking and acting.

Man, I never realized just how good the beginning of Jaws was. I watched half of Jaws last night but fell asleep and now I was gonna watch the whole thing over. And last night I was almost caught off guard cause I didn't remember the beginning being that ****ing raw. I mean it's aged some with the special effects and the actings, but only just a bit, and it is uncomfortable to watch. And just before I rewatched the scene a little while ago I honestly felt just a bit apprehensive because my memory of the scene was fresh. That's pretty ****ing awesome.

*And it was uncomfortable and awesome the second time too.

The Woody Allen movie Mighty Aphrodite (1995).

I really enjoyed it! Charming, funny, well shot, well acted, well written... like a lot of other Woody Allen movies, basically.
I know a lot of people find his movies annoying, but I really love them.
I've worked my way through 19 of them so far...
There's a lot more. I'm glad he's been so insanely productive over the years.
