I liked it alright. But that's just it...it was alright. It had some nice gorey scenes and what not, but even now I can barely remember most of it because it wasn't that memorable. The whole medieval thing was strange and I thought the mohawk guy-with-scantily-clad-dancers-prancing-around-on-stage thing was a little out of place and corny.

It reminded me of Mad Max meets I Am Legend meets Underworld meets James Bond (the car thing you know) meets the Village.

OK. Here goes. Child Neglect, drug abuse, male rape (with a 20" donger I may add), sexual battery, insanity, homophobia, misogony, racism, violence and Mogwai!

Yes it's all here in a film that disgusted me yet fascinated me. Superbly directed on a shoestring budget this small Belgian film (using the Flemish dialect) is like Trainspotting on acid. Every single character is utterly abhorrent with no redeeming features for any of them but it's a bravura piece of film making.

Did I enjoy it? No not really! Was I impressed by it? It's got balls I will say that for it! Oh...the plot you say? A punk band hires a famous author as a drummer. That's as far as I can say!
I don't even know if I should recommend it but one thing for it-it's certainly not safe film making.

Here's the trailer:

A friend of mine told me about that film a while ago, i'm bloody curious i have to say. Also, punk covers of Devo? Brilliant.

I think anyone with a genuine passing interest in cinema should at least give it a chance as absolutely EVERYONE is ripped into and there are some genuinely great moments of surrealism. Soundtrack is great too.

I just saw this:

Just watched Napoleon Dynamite for the 10th time.....so funny!

Finally got round to watching Little Miss Sunshine today.
I had virtually no idea what the film was about beforehand, despite the fact it's been knocking around for ages.

Brilliantly funny. I can't remember laughing so much at a film in years.
The sequence with the dodgy car horn, the police and the dead Grandad in the boot was genuinely hilarious.
The talent show was a different kettle of fish. Funny for all the wrong reasons.
The pressure put on some of those young kids in the real life talent shows has me seriously questioning your collective intelligence.
You Americans are fucked up beyond belief...seriously.

The soundtrack is Devotchka. For me, it made the movie. Get the album if you haven't already (How it ends).
