Excellent film 9/10. The characters were so interesting and wonderfull performances by Portman, Owen, and Law but I thought Roberts was not that strong (I read that Cate Blanchett was the first choice for the role, which would have made the movie maybe a 10/10 for me).

You not like? It was a bit messy and there looks like studio inteference but I thought it was OK. The castle scenes were useless though.

I liked it alright. But that's just it...it was alright. It had some nice gorey scenes and what not, but even now I can barely remember most of it because it wasn't that memorable. The whole medieval thing was strange and I thought the mohawk guy-with-scantily-clad-dancers-prancing-around-on-stage thing was a little out of place and corny.

It reminded me of Mad Max meets I Am Legend meets Underworld meets James Bond (the car thing you know) meets the Village.

OK. Here goes. Child Neglect, drug abuse, male rape (with a 20" donger I may add), sexual battery, insanity, homophobia, misogony, racism, violence and Mogwai!

Yes it's all here in a film that disgusted me yet fascinated me. Superbly directed on a shoestring budget this small Belgian film (using the Flemish dialect) is like Trainspotting on acid. Every single character is utterly abhorrent with no redeeming features for any of them but it's a bravura piece of film making.

Did I enjoy it? No not really! Was I impressed by it? It's got balls I will say that for it! Oh...the plot you say? A punk band hires a famous author as a drummer. That's as far as I can say!
I don't even know if I should recommend it but one thing for it-it's certainly not safe film making.

Here's the trailer:

I think anyone with a genuine passing interest in cinema should at least give it a chance as absolutely EVERYONE is ripped into and there are some genuinely great moments of surrealism. Soundtrack is great too.
