Its grossed 76 million on a 25 million dollar budget, so the different folks did like the strokes. Daniel Day Lewis is a tour de force.

Silence.
Long, ambitious, as well made as you'd expect from Scorsese, and well acted, especially Andrew Garfield's performance. Will watch again.

Over on Rotten Tomatoes it's got a 91% rating from critics and a 86% rating from fans. On IMDB it's got an 81% rating. So I'm not alone. No Country for Old Men, also from 2007, justifyably beat it out for both Best Picture and Best Director at the Oscars. TWBB also lost both of those awards at The Golden Globes. No doubt it's an epic tale. I just don't think it's a great movie.

Metallica: Some Kind of Monster
First time I saw it 10 years ago it came across as kinda pathetic and whiny. Much better on the second viewing.

They came across as guys that need extended therapy. Bunch of whiney bitches. Kirk Hammett comes across really meek, and Hetfield and Ulrich come across like two year old girls. I thought James voice was better before he decided to take voice lessons also, quite puzzling.

Get Out is a must see.
I had to rush and catch a matinee of it because I felt like too many people were casually talking about it on Facebook and I didn't want to get spoiled. The social commentary isn't beating you over the head the entire movie but it's definitely there. Great psychological thriller.

I've been disagreeing with my dad about that for years and it's good to see some validation.
