Basically!

Also the M. Night twist at the end is so worth it.

YES! Finally.

You're lucky! I'm actually legitimately planning on adopting Lucia as my middle name once I finally get around to legally changing my name.

Is is terribly underrated in general-- it has such a comforting, almost magical quality to it. I love all of the simmering, barely-repressed longing beneath Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison's prim and proper demeanor. Plus, it's endlessly re-watchable, and that monologue absolutely ruins me single time. (I also confess that I have watched every single cheesy Youtube musical tribute video) "It's been a dream, Lucia..."

could not agree more....when the "beast" twist happened i totally gave up on the film but that very end scene was perfect and set up for what can be some great films to come

Also I feel like it did a respectful job of dealing with DID it wasn't as exploitative as some people were worried about only based off of the trailer. If they actually watch the movie instead of complaining based off of a trailer they will see that it was handled with respect to the disorder.
I'm so happy to hear it did well. I've not seen it yet, but I was really pushing for M. Night to finally get out of his funk.

I'm perfectly happy to go see it just for James McAvoy. I don't think I'll be breaking down any doors to see it, but me and a buddy go see movies a lot so I might just go see this as the chain theaters around here are kind of light on anything else good to watch.

James McAvoy has certainly gone up in my favorite actors list as well.
