If only you'd been here when Movie Night was still a thing. We watched only the finest in B-movies. We should restart Movie Night tbh.

Yes, indeed. (I faintly remember that actually, from my past lurking. Seems like a lot of things like that died out?) I desperately need to rewatch Showgirls again soon.

If you're just looking for gratuitous sex skip Showgirls and go straight to Caligula.

Love Earth Girls are Easy! That's the one where they shave the aliens and one of them ends up being Jim Carrey, right? Damn, it's been such a long time since I saw that one. It's one of the many cheesy flicks that I used to watch with my sister when I was a teenager

I enjoyed Sing Street even though it's a little bit cheesy. It's definitely worth watching.

Good grief this recommendation.

Avoid at all costs!

CALIGULA! It's been ages since I watched it. I think my brain blocked it out..? All the more reason I guess. (Oh, now I want to watch Quills. Not a B movie but still)

Yes! And Jeff Goldblum as the suave alien. It's such a lovable movie. The dream sequence scene was A++.

Haywire - Stephen Soderbergh

MMA Star Gina Carano in her first feature role. Funny that she gets first billing since the flick also has Michael Douglas, Antonio Banderas, Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, and Channing Tatum.

100% totally fun flick with Soderbergh doing what he does best. Underscored but sustained action.

The fight scene between Carano and Fassbender is simply one of the best in the history of film.

Spoiler for FIGHT!:

That movie was awesome. And that fight between Carrano and Fassbender was brutal as ****.

Spoiler for for realz:
There are worse ways to die than between Gina Carrano's legs.

Hey Bat - I finally watched Ghost in the Shell.

I watched it with a film production friend who is buds with Joshua David (Creative Technologist for FUNimation) and several other members of their key staff in the West. He educated me as to all the major developments in anime distribution and dubbing in the last ten years, particularly the changes following FUNimation's merge with Crunchyroll and the vast improvements in redubbing for English distribution.

Of course, I adored the hard sci-fi storyline and the philosophical questions of the GitS universe. (Anything akin to Philip K Dick is entirely up my alley.) I'll definitely be taking in the series next.
