I watched Fear of 13 the other night, which was ****ing fantastic. It's a documentary (on netflix) about a guy who was on death row for 20+ years thanks to our abysmal justice system. Really fascinating story.

Halfway into The Wailing and kinda considering stopping watching it.
It's well made but it also all feels like a generic horror plot being drawn out by the protagonists being bumbling, passive, borderline slapsticky idiots. Annoying.
Does it get better?

The lead is a total idiot. The plot goes in a lot of strange, nongeneric directions though.

I disagree with you so hard on that movie, I'm afraid Qwerty will have a seizure.
What a dumb, annoying, beautifully filmed peace of crap.

Moonlight

Went to go see Paterson last night but the shows were cancelled due to projector failure so we ended up seeing this.

Intimate intimate film. Deserves every accolade it gets. Beautifully shot and constructed with some superb acting from the whole cast. Mahershala Ali and Ashton Sanders were just so good. The music was also very good. The film didn't really tell a vastly unique story but more a story that doesn't get the spotlight often which to me makes it a very important film and something character studies will be written on for college papers in the future. Definitely try to see this while it's in theaters.

Re: The Wailing. I loved the magic realism of it (never seen a film pull it off like that) as well as the unanswered questions it leaves us with. It reminded me a lot of A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings in some ways.
