I usually don't start watching movies until the clock only allows me 5 or 6 hours of sleep so I have a tendency to pass out real quick, regardless of how great the film may be. Really enjoying it so far, I'm only about halfway through, if I throw it on early enough tonight I'll be able to finish it.

Finished it, and it was fantastic.

You should love it. It's all about jazz!

Always dug Hugo Weaving but this may have been his greatest role. The dude owned every single scene he was in and completely mind ****ed everyone else involved.

Images with white backgrounds typically aren't that attractive.

Thanks I will keep that in mind for next time.

I had the same issue. I went grocery shopping after watching it today humming that first song.

:nono:

Partly about jazz but yeah.

I wanted to hate it because I really don't like being forced to like something that everyone else does or that award season and critics are saying I should like. I appreciate for what it was but I only need to see it once. It was good though. I might end up seeing it one more time because I went to a solo matinee instead of taking the old ball and chain with me which I will end up doing some time this weekend.

I thought it was pretty great but like DJ, I only need to see it once. They really nailed it with his response to her when she said she hated jazz though, I think I've given that speech verbatim almost ten times.

Watched this again for like...the 4th time. And it's fantastic every single time.

Totally agreed. I can watch it multiple times and still laugh my ass off.

I think it resonates with me so strongly because I was that person once and I never followed my dream...instead I started using heroin. So it really plugs at my heart strings. By far my favorite numbers are her audition and the lovely night number.

What are yours?

The highway number in the beginning and the one with the singing in the rain dance tribute.

The Green Room was one of the few movies I saw in theaters last year and it was easily the most intense movie I had seen, probably since Martyrs. Great acting all the way around, especially when Patrick Stewart showed up as the Neo-Nazi leader.

Just finished Rounders for the first time, loved every minute of it, and going in blind I was pleasantly surprised to see John Malkovich and John Turturro in the mix. Gretchen Mol too, I only know her from Boardwalk Empire, was nice to finally see her in something else, and not only because she's easy on the eyes, she did good with the small role she had.

Also watched a fairly new run of the mill werewolf survival horror last night called Howl, not bad, pretty much what I was expecting and entertaining enough that I may watch it again if drunk enough.
