Yup. I when I heard they were doing the movie I thought for sure they wouldn't pull it off. But they did and Damon was perfect as the lead.

Just watched this and it rocked mine too. I agree with everything you said. I love movies like this. It kept reminding me of other movies every now and then. The Usual Suspects and Seven being two.

I had to turn it up really loud and rewind a few times.

The slang was the only part where I got lost (toe cutters?), I thought it was kinda subtle, but we did have a lot of Aussie kids at college so I guess I'm a little used to it.

Immense film either way, criminally underrated.

Toe cutters is Oz police slang for their internal affairs division (had to look it up).

I decided to watch Gremlins again and completely forgot that it's essentially a Christmas movie.

So Die Hard and Gremlins are my two favorite Christmas movies.

I don't think I've watched Gremlins since sometime in the 80s or very early 90s. I do like it though. I remember kind of liking the sequel as well.

I loved the sequel so much more. You got such a great variety of different personalities of Gremlins.

The first one scared me so much as a little kid when I first watched it. I now know why it's because of the announcer at the end saying check your cabinets. I literally went and did that but I was petrified the entire time while slowly opening them hoping that a Gremlin wouldn't pop out. I'm pretty sure I was too young to be watching that movie when I first saw it.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.
