I like The Life Aquatic but I'm really lazy and haven't watched any others yet :P

But seriously in the last three days I've seen the Royal Tenenbaums, Grand Budapest Hotel, and Darjeeling Limited (viewed twice, read the script once), and I need an outlet for my admiration. |

Both fun and entertaining. Oh and Fantastic Mr. Fox, which might be an unusual one for him, which wasn't bad either.

See, I saw Moonrise Kingdom a couple of years ago and it really didn't do much for me, however, in light of my recent Wes Anderson enlightenment phase, I will probably go at it again. I was on the fence about Rushmore too, but I liked Tenenbaums, so as a director I found him hit-or-miss until seeing Darjeeling on the plane like four days ago on my way back from my own escapist flight of fancy. Maybe that's why it hit me so hard, although I do not recall thinking that at the time. |

Lol that was my introduction to Wes in the first place. I had never heard of him, and then one day Olivia sent me a text saying like "Don't you think Wes Anderson is the most pretentious director of all time?"
Then, I looked up a list of his films and realized that Life Aquatic had been in my queue anyways and watched it the next day. Oh, and then a couple days latwr I made her watch 2001.

Wes Anderson is to pretentious movies what Slipknot is to extreme metal. Good, though.

As a result, me and David Lynch films are not good friends. I'm not saying it's right, but I get it. Last edited by Paedantic Basterd; 10-28-2016 at 03:49 PM. |
