Fosse is a great director. Cabaret is also one of my favorite films by him, and of all time. Were you impressed with Chicago? I saw the film before I saw the play... and I saw the play locally at The Palace (in upstate NY), and wasn't impressed with the actors that much. The film version wasn't exactly clever, but it certainly grabbed me. (Or did CZJ grab me? Not sure ).

PS. Smokey dance number = 11/10.

Cabaret is one of my favorites too, not just musicals, mainly because it's one of the rare musicals that actually has good music (the other two are Hair and Grease). That's what I felt was missing from Chicago. CZJ was pretty good though, but she's a dancer I think. I'll be honest and say that the reason why I didn't really think much of it was probably because of all the hype it got. I'll have to rewatch it now that I've seen Cabaret and All that jazz, just to see how they compare. But really, Cabaret is the golden standard of musicals for me.

I have the entire Cabaret soundtrack on my iTunes, and everybody picks on me for it haha. I agree that Cabaret is one of the rare musicals with good music. Also enjoy Grease, but I've seen it so much that it's getting wearing haha.

CZJ is a dancer. Tap dancer, hoofer, all of it. She used to be on the stage in Wales (her birth-country) a lot.

Yeah, you could see she was a pro...but boy, that woman in the smokey dance number was so fucking good, every move was so tense and passionate...a whole different level. And she was a fucking knockout...amazing body...goddamn dancers...>:[

I just saw "The Day the Earth Stood Still." Pretty good, but if you're looking for an action movie then look somewhere else.

^ I really want to see this. But know I'm going to be disappointed because I love the original.

I love Jim Carey in his older films. His more recent comedies haven't been all that, Bruce Almighty was pretty funny though.

I'll admit Bruce Almighty wasn't bad... but I'm a sucker for anything that puts a little humor into religion.
