Beyond the Black Rainbow (2010) I haven't enjoyed this much audio-visual goodness in quite some time. I can't decide which is better - the film or the soundtrack (the epic 1966 - Let The New Age Of Enlightenment Begin especially)

Saw The Big Short last night.
Best black comedy I've seen since In The Loop. Virtuoso performance by Bale, as usual. And the movie really broke down the roots of the financial disaster of 2007-2008. Very sobering story about how greed corrupts.

I watched Time Lapse recently. The acting was hammy as **** and the ending was stupid (felt like they had to rush writing or shooting it or something like that), but apart from that it was really interesting. These three friends find a camera that takes a picture one day into the future and it starts to **** with everything. Really interesting exploration of the bootstrap paradox (paradox of time travel that occurs when an object or piece of information sent back in time becomes trapped within an infinite cause-effect loop in which the item no longer has a discernible point of origin, and is said to be “uncaused” or “self-created”).

Watched Hardcore Henry yesterday.
The whole first-person gimmick wasn't as annoying as I expected it to be, but I wouldn't say it made the film particularly outstanding either. Overall it was partly enjoyable, partly a little boring. Also the main villain kinda sucked. I did enjoy seeing the authentic russian locations and some of the russian banter was pretty hilarious.
