For you, maybe. For those who trust RT, it didn't get nearly 80% for nothing.

The Batlord 05-03-2016 09:51 AM

Why are you so obsessed with IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes? Who cares what they say, cause everyone with taste knows it sucks.

Frownland 05-03-2016 09:52 AM

He wants to be a movie critic iirc so he has to agree with the rest of them or something.

The Batlord 05-03-2016 09:55 AM

I was always under the impression that critics hated Prince of Egypt.

JGuy Grungeman 05-03-2016 09:56 AM

Um, I've made it clear that there are many things I don't agree with on RT. And this is like, what the third time I've ever mentioned RT? And when have I ever stated anything about Imdb? Once, maybe?

The only reason I brought up RT in the first place was to say that one can't really say it's "unmemorable" if it gets enough acclaim for people to remember it in a good way, as if he was speaking for everyone else. Even if he wasn't, that's the way it came across to me.

The Batlord 05-03-2016 10:15 AM

You do it all the time, dude. When you're in an argument about a movie you always pull the "Well IMDB says it's good, so there" card.

JGuy Grungeman 05-03-2016 10:21 AM

Keep deluding yourself. I mention imdn if I'm impressed how far it got. I bring up internet movie data bases to back up an argument like "It's a comedy because it has a lot of jokes. Besides, it's not unheard of to call it a comedy. Heck, other websites call it a comedy as well."

No, you've definitely brought it up in the past to back up your arguments.

JGuy Grungeman 05-03-2016 10:24 AM

You mean my arguments and opinions that were already formed before I looked up the RT or Imdb or RYM ratings? And how I merely show other websites that agree with my opinion, not me agreeing with them? It's not uncommon to use sources on the internet. :P

Trusting a critics opinion on a movie is like not listening to an album because someone who hates the band says it sucks.
