This was the only Paul Thomas Anderson film I hadn't seen apart from Inherent Vice. For the first half I thought it was a good film that was realistic, but didn't have anything that particularly wowed me apart from the acting and cinematography. Then the second half kicked in, and I was reminded of why I love PTA. Looking back to the first part in the context of the film makes it much better, but I'll be honest when I was underwhelmed for the first hour or so. In the end, 4.5/5.

Thanks for making sure I was in-the-know! It was truly a wonderful film.

I was actually underwhelmed, it wasn't that big.

How Dirk Diggler’s Penis Was Created In ‘Boogie Nights’ | UPROXX "We sculpted a version that was 12 inches long, and we tested it and it was just way too big. It looked just like a weird monster penis." ................. i should be using google for more productive things..

I learned everything that I ever wanted to know about Dirk Diggler's dick (and his story, to a lesser degree) here: Livin’ Thing

Caught this last night on TMC. Have seen it many times but it never fails to delivery the goods.
Interesting fact about the famous Joy Harmon car wash scene. She was filmed on one day, and the prisoners reactions were filmed on a different day. Talk about acting.

Robin Williams Remembered – A Pioneers of Television Special (2014) This showed up on Netflix and I waited a few days before I watched it. It's really quite good. There's a lot about him that I really didn't know about, and it basically showcases the final interview he took part in before his death. It also does a good job at focusing more on the positive parts of his life instead of the negatives. I enjoyed it quite a bit and anyone who is a fan of Robin Williams would surely enjoy it. |
