As Valhalla Rising delivers so little besides pretentiousness, it should be the perfect movie then

It's got great acting, beautiful photography and it chose Viking mythology as a setting for some mumbly artsy plot. Nothing to argue with for me. I love Valhalla Rising.

The last film I watched was The Whackness - an indie coming of age film about a white hip hop kid in NYC in 1994 who sells weed to make money for college. Excellent soundtrack and all around decent film. Ben Kingsley costars.

The Wackness was a solid coming of age flick for sure. Kingsley always seems to elevate the movies he is in a bit.

I just recently saw Vertigo for the first time. It was awesome. Definitely a gem that has escaped me for years and nearly as good as Rear Window.

Have you seen Sexy Beast? His greatest work by a wide margin IMO.

^^ Fantastic film. Love the trippy rabbit scenes.

Watched Edge of Tomorrow yesterday and for the most part loved it. Excellent Sci-Fi time loop flick with great effects and lots of wicked humor. Awesome pay attention popcorn movie that rewards.

That being said.....

Spoiler for I love Emily Blunt:
I love Emily Blunt. Between this and Looper I'm a certified fan. She's Ripley and Connor all wrapped up into one. Seductively awesome on the eyes too.

Creatures were way too much a rip off of The Matrix.

HATED the tacked on ending. Hated it. Guess it leads to a sequel if the studio can bankroll it. Movie was a surprising box office disappointment - relatively speaking.

I wasn't a fan of the ending either. It should have ended ten minutes earlier.
