Agree with all the positive sentiments about Ex Machina, absolutely fascinating and beautiful film with gorgeous soundtrack. Somewhat intellectually stimulating too.
I also saw the new Avengers (best of the Whedon foray into Marvel comics IMO - dude just can't lose). Also too saw What We Do In The Shadows. Predictable Flight of the Conchords-esque humor and definitely not a must-see-on-the-big-screen film but funny.

98% Approval rating over at Rotten Tomatoes as of this morning. Extremely high for an action movie.

I've seen Montage of Heck twice now.....and while it is an amazing and beautiful documentary about one of my all time favorite musical artists....it's extremely sad...right from the get go....and seeing him obliterated on heroin and holding his daughter really tugged at my heart strings
still very well done....of course it is...Brett Morgen has yet to do an uninteresting documentary still very sad |

Im thinking of switching back to Hbo just to see it. I saw an interview on Brett and the doc and the interviewer pointed out the exact scene you mentioned as being very heartbreaking.
