Did ya know they originally wanted to get The Who for that scene but it fell through. So that's why they had Beck mimic Townsend's guitar smashing bit.

I didn't know that until you mentioned it. And after looking the film up on Wikipedia, it says that Eric Burdon turned down an offer to play that scene so 'The in Crowd' were going to do it but were dropped for The Yardbirds who were more well known at the time. The Velvet Underground were also considered for the scene but the expense of bringing them to London was considered too costly.

Coherence I seriously can't talk about this movie. Can't. This may be one of the five or so films I know of that you have to go in as blind as possible. The journey is part of the fun. It's fantastic. It doesn't make sense in some spots but this is what makes Thomas Pynchon and Phillip K. Dick so awesome, unique story telling with a psychological twist. Takes place at a dinner party the night of a comet passover. That's all you get. If any of you take my film hobby seriously, watch this movie. You'll be glad you did. It's very low budget and mostly improvised. It's what I look for in film. It's on Amazon Instant and VOD right now. SEE IT. 5/5 |
