Got a chance last night. As expected, Nightcrawler was the greatest movie I've seen this year. It was like combining Drive, Network, and Taxi Driver into one very well directed, insanely well acted, and visually stunning 2 hour caffeine trip. Very entertaining, very well scripted, and relentlessly stressful. 9/10, will see again.

Birdman. A quintessential dark comedy, heavy on the dark. The plot leaves a bit to the imagination, but all and all, I really liked it. Michael Keaton was amazing. Last edited by simplephysics; 11-03-2014 at 06:22 PM. |

Watership Down I'd been holding off watching this for a while, because the book is one of my all-time favourites, and I was afraid it wouldn't adapt well to the screen. In a sense, it didn't - the plot was clipped and the philosophical aspect almost non-existent. However, the film was still entirely enjoyable. And when, at the most emotional moment, this started playing… …I lost it. My first reaction was, "Oh my God, it's Art Garfunkel". I had no idea his music would be featured. Then I just started bawling. Until now, a movie had never brought me to tears. That alone will make watching it a memorable experience. You don't need to have read the book to enjoy the movie, although I recommend you do - it's an entirely satisfying and thought-provoking read. Ultimately, I thought the film was faithful enough, while not trying to be an allegory. Solid 8/10. Oh, and did I mention that I have Richard Adams' autograph?

If it's the one about the band I saw it recently too. Jebus, does Henley and Frey come off as complete d-bags by the end of it.

Finally saw The Sixth Sense. I had the ending spoiled for me so I never sat down to actually watch it. I'm not going to write a full review because honestly...what's the point. I really liked it. Even with knowing the ending, I felt the acting and story was powerful enough to draw me in. The final twenty minutes even had me teared up. That's good acting guys.

That's unfortunate. I got shivers down my spine the first time I watched it and the twist was revealed. Glad you still really dug it though.
The teary scene for me was when the son was telling his mom in the car how proud her mom was of her.
