Pretty great movie. It's about a band tryin to record an album, a kid who gets involved as a replacement keyboard player.

I get that it's supposed to be satirical but it's such a sleeper. It's kind of funny in the way that it's spot-on with the human stereotypes (stoner, smart girl/smart guy, jocktard he-man & slutty girl) but as a satirical film, it's just...lacking.

It's so bad that I can't even tell if it's really supposed to be satire or if most of its screenplay was written by Tommy Wiseau, then gussied up by some shitty first-year indie film writer who thinks they're ~so edgy~

2/10, shit film, wouldn't even enjoy it if I was drunk

in fact, this scene from Kentucky Fried Movie has more satirical depth and value than the whole of Cabin in the Woods, which should be re-named to Does a Bear Shit in the Woods? Discuss, and Skip This Movie.

$20 says this is how it went down...

Ki: Wow, this is a great movie.

ladyislingering: This is terrible.

Ki: I know, this movie sucks.

I'm on board with that movie being shizz. At first I thought it was a funny concept and it had it's moments with those one-liners here and there but all in all it really wasn't that entertaining.

Not even close.

I just thought it was a concept gone wrong. It could have been good, but the cheesiness made it very difficult to watch.

You didn't even watch the whole thing though, right? It's really not a movie you can judge accurately without watching the whole thing.

Why bother? Lil has spoken, so Ki's decision is made. ;)

There was about 30 or so minutes left in the movie, so if those last 30 minutes are like the greatest thing i've ever seen in movie history, than yes I have missed out, but I got to the point I was at and still was not convinced that it would get better.

Been forever since I've seen this. I've been watching a lot of older Disney/Pixar movies. The animations are just... amazing. Especially in this case. Just, knowing they must have done each frame hand by hand. The labor that went into these old animated films (not hand by hand in pixar's case obviously but still)... it's inspiring to see what someone so dedicated to their craft can accomplish. That said this movie still doesn't make a lick of sense.

If a Unicorn Massacre (performed by unicorns, not on unicorns) is not epic, I don't know what is :P
Seriously, this movie needs to be seen whole. You probably didn't get to the "wow, it's starting to make sense now, all these cliches.... all for a reason, huh?" moment. But it's there.
There's also one of the most if not the most epic endings but I won't spoil that.
