Festen
I watched a lot of the Dogme 95 films recently. I'm planning on starting work on making my own films very soon and watching films as basic as this are a good source of inspiration. The fact that Thomas Vinterburg accomplishes so much with this film without so many of the traditional tools of cinema is nothing short of amazing. Proves that low budget basic filmmaking can be extremely special.

Great film indeed. The trailer makes it seem completely different, like a thriller.

The most recent movie I saw in theaters was the new Hercules with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. It was actually pretty good. I think that The Rock is shaping up to be a pretty decent actor so far. I'm keeping an eye out for more movies from him.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil

First time seeing this and holy crap it's amazing. I don't know what I was expecting because I hadn't seen a trailer for it before, but it was honestly one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. The actors who play Tucker and Dale did such a superb job and the group of kids played the cliche "kids in the woods" very well. Highly recommended.

I love that film, it's a great twist on the horror genre. The part where Tucker has a scythe a says hi to the kids and they're like 'we don't want any trouble!' had me in stitches among many many other parts.

Probably my favorite part is when the kid runs right into the wood chipper and all you hear is "are you ok?"

It was a great example of taking a really cool concept for a twist in the horror film genre and doing it right. It could have been corny, but none of it was corny.

the fact that Wash is apparently in it is enough for me.

Go watch Under The Skin if you want to see Scarlett Johannson naked.
