It took me a while to get to this movie, I'm a huge fan of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas but only got to know about this movie recently.
It's ....well, it's exactly what I expected :D Crazy, sometimes hilarious, generally insane. Just like the sequel. It's not as good, but it's no surprise as Terry Gilliam set the bar very high with the next one, but it's good enough.
As much as I love Bill Murray, Johnny Depp acted better as Hunter. Whether he was more true to the character I don't know.

Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore

I liked this film. Great supporting cast besides the always fantastic Ellen Burstyn who won an Oscar for her role as a traveling single parent aspiring to be a singer. Her kid was annoying as hell and I'm surprised he is still breathing because I'd have killed him but overall an enjoyable movie from Martin Scorcese.

3.5/5

The photography and landscape captured during the latter part of this film is stunning :)

Some months ago, I with my whole family went to our theater to see the movie LINCOLN. It is a great movie and it has so much meaning in my life as well as my parents. This movie unlike most movies, is able to reach across races, ages, and of course classes. This movie is a symbol of hope of one day where everyone can live as one union. This movie made me so moved and I even cried (I barely cry these days). I was so touched. I want to see that movie. I hope if I can keep my money together, I can get this movie on DVD. Lincoln is one the best films that I ever seen for a long time. I recommend everyone to see that movie.

Just watched The Royal Tenenbaums for the first time in a very very long time. Not going to lie, I thoroughly enjoyed it a lot more now that I know what a lot of it means.

Miss Bala

Very very good film from Mexico based loosely on true events. The film is about an aspiring beauty pageant contestant that gets dragged into a drug cartel and forced to carry out their biddings. The film was flawlessly directed and the cinematography was stunning. There was a lot of long shots and action scenes that were filmed on one take. This made the whole film very realistic and tense. It also had a very thought provoking ending. I watched this on demand so if you can find it check it out. One of the more heavy action films you'll see.

4.5/5

Of the many films I've watched so far this year, this one is maybe my favorite. It's a documentary that probably relies too heavily on dramatic reenactments but it's the story that is important.

I assume I'm not alone in wondering how long it would be before my corpse is discovered..

It's a very good movie, I'll be purchasing it when it comes out on home media.

Ridley Scott's Robn Hood (US 2010), with Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett. It contains some of the most confusing accents I've ever heard in a film. Added to which, the leisurely pace, grunge-y photography and strange storyline made me yearn for Errol Flynn, Richard Greene or Barry Ingham. The earthy style reminded me of Sean Connery's film, but at least that one had a sense of humour. Even Kevin Costner's film was closer to the legend.
