Monsters fighting each other? Frankenstein matching up to a Zombie? This sounded so promising in a so bad it's good B movie scenario. Bought on a whim (which I rarely do these days), the dvd even included top trump style cards with ratings for each monster so there was money behind it but it turned out to be one of the worst films I have ever seen. It is just a serious of actors in very bad make up wrestling and it's the sort of crap staged wrestling on the T.V. No OTT gore or amazing fight scenes that could have made the film a cult item. Absolute crap which is a shame as the concept had something going for it.

And so good! I saw this 4 times at the movies (and only God knows how many times on tv), it was one boring vacation to the Polish seaside with my family and Ace saved it. I was 11 and the jokes really hit the spot
Last weekend I got my hands on a copy of an all time classic stupid movie - Kung Pow: enter the fist. In no other movie you can witness a kung fu fight to the "I like big butts" tune or authentic quotes like this one: (the main bad guy in the movie, calling himself Betty) Expect a stupid, absurd mockery of everything that you know about kung fu movies, with a lot of bad acting and again, stupidity. I try to watch it once in a while to remind me of the better times when I first saw it and to introduce my unaware friends to the magical world of The Chosen One and his adventures. |

I love Kung Pow. The parts of the movie that are not from old Kung Fu flicks are not that great, really, but the ones that are are pretty hilarious at times. It's fascinating that someone not from Troma made such a silly movie.

Lake Mungo
Pretty good psychological mockumentary. I'm not always too big on documentary-esque type movies, but this one was really well done. It was a made up story about a girl named Alice drowing in a pond during a picnic with her family. I won't give more information than that, but if you have Netflix, I definitely recommend checking it out. |

Lake Mungo was one of those movies I was really happy to buy on DVD. I remember downloading it in either 2009 or 2010 after looking up recommendations for psychological horror movies and this one came up on a few people's lists. The documentary effect works really well in this case, helped by the fact that it's presented like an official documentary with a minimal amount of shaky cam bullshit. It only had a handful of scares but it definitely did hit you on a deeper level by getting to you sympathize with the family's grief.

Holy SHIT! That was GREAT. Such a brutal and powerful film. Great history is shown and the power of anger and love is portrayed beautifully. It's honestly one of the best films I've seen in a long time and I'm going to buy it on blu ray ASAP. Great opening and SUCH A HEART RIPPING ENDING OMG. My jaw was on the floor for like 20 minutes after the credits rolled. Anybody who wants a synopsis...it's about the dying wish from a mother to her two children asking them to go back to their home land to find their lost father and brother. I ending is ****ing unforgettable. Lynch/10 |
