I try to put down musicals at any chance I get. The only ones I know I've seen entirely have been Cats (in a Louisville production when I was 12 or something), Sweeney Todd (the plot annoyed me) and Across the Universe (which maimed every song it touched).

The Exorcist is bloody brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Easily the best acting I've ever seen in a horror movie, across the board. Simply brilliant. Might I add I was scared ****less for two weeks after the first time I watched it? Probably because I was a christian at the time, and I took the movie pretty seriously. These days, I merely enjoy it as a flawless horror story with sublime acting.

I've heard that opinion before, and I have no problem with people finding it hilarious. After all, what scares one person is laughable to the next. Personally I am more scared of supernatural/psychological horror movies than the slasher/torture ones, so The Exorcist suits me well in that regard. In addition, though, it has sublime acting by Ellen Burstyn, Max von Sydow, Jake J. Cobb and Linda Blair, and that fact can't be denied.
