The best thing about the movie (imo) was actually Jennifer Lawrence who is charming and interesting to watch. I'd like to see her in more and better movies in the future.

I had a fight with my girlfriend today so I stayed home and angrily watched movies. I have a problem.
Yeah, I haven't seen some pretty popular movies. I loved the first film but never dove into the sequels. I have the third one on my dvr and will watch that soon. I didn't like it as much as the first but it was an acceptable sequel and worthy of my time. I do feel like they are a bit dated but damn are they fun to watch. 7/10 This is going to be a great rainy day movie that I hope to own one day. The special effects were wonderful as I kept trying to figure out how they fit a human being into those robots. I found my answer. Multiple amputees. 8/10 I thought this wasn't going to hold up well considering it's more than 60 years old but GOD DAMN did it hold up! Wonderful movie and a sci-fi essential. Leslie Nielson was weird to watch in a film where he isn't acting like a hilarious jackass. The monster felt WAY above its time effects wise. Great flick. 9/10 Holy ****. HOLY ****. I'm not sure exactly what I just watched but it was really REALLY GOOD. The acting was fantastic, the violence was BRUTAL, and the ending was such in a world of WTF that I'm still not exactly sure what the hell just happened. Seriously. What the hell was that? I loved it. 10/10 |

My girlfriend and I are still having problems. I hate it. I'm a bit depressed. It's a ****ty day out and I don't have work so I guess it's depressed movie watching day. I'll update this post as I go along.
Went from average dark comedy to sci-fi pretty well. It's still a low budget flick but I quite enjoyed it. It's funny that they mention cowboys and aliens and it stars Jon Favreau. Perhaps he got the idea to make that ****ty movie of his. 7/10 Not very good. Hitchcock for me was better in his later years. This was just kind of flat for me. I never got drawn in like I usually do with his films. Definitely worth a watch though. 5/10 Well that was bad. The direction was fine but I think the over acting by DeNiro and the comparison to the original which was much better doomed this for me. Robert Mitchum was such a better Max Cady but I'm a huge Mitchum fan so maybe I'm biased. Anyhow, disappointing. 5/10 Good first two thirds but I hated the ending. I could guess from the beginning what would happen except the supernatural aspect of it. Kind of a bummer because it was a good thriller until the end. 6/10 Last edited by Exo; 11-30-2012 at 07:15 PM. |

This is why I love movies and specifically low budget movies. There is always a lot of crap to wade through but now and again you find real class. Shot for less than a million dollars yet looking like it cost many more times than that. A zombie themed movie that is far more concerned with the human characters than flesh ripping. The cinematography is stunning, there are some really cool hand drawn animation scenes, very original and made with; dare I say it, love. I have never seen an arthouse Zombie film before but this certainly fit's the bill. Set in Tennessee in the late 1800's it oozes atmosphere and emotional punch. Just watch it.
