Decent enough thriller with some superb scenery from the Scottish highlands but the last third detracts from the films tense opening acts. Plenty of tension and fantastic acting from just a cast of three with a couple of little twists along the way. Not too much replay value for me but was definitely worth the watch.

AAARRGGGHHH! One of the most frustrating films I have seen for a long while. This is just a couple of tweaks away from being a genuine cult film and they are becoming a real rarity these days. A post apocalyptic America is in the thrall of Vampires and not just the clichéd varieties either. They come in all manner and guises as evolution gives rise to many different sub species. The film looks absolutely amazing considering it's low budget, it is very low key, free of clichés and is utterly believable. However the plot seems to me like a series of great set pieces cobbled together with no clear definition of where the film wants to go or what to say (Apart from head north as usual!) which left me utterly frustrated as this could have been up there with Near Dark regarding subversive Vampire movies. Don't let this put you off though as it's still miles ahead of your usual Hollywood fare and has a pervasive atmosphere that holds your attention but this could have been an absolute classic. Mad Max - vehicles + vampires + religious baiting = Stake Land.

Sorry but third post in a row but on different days. A mod can merge if they want.
A brilliant performance from Michael Shannon adds to a relatively slim storyline about a happily married man haunted by hallucinations of an impending apocalyptic storm and the effect it has on all those around him. A tad long at just under 2 hours and it does suffer with pacing problems at times but it was definitely worth a watch and once again proves that you don't need star names or big budgets to make intelligent and well constructed films.

Marley Great documentary that I felt gave a very full picture of him as a human being. I also was very fascinated by the evolving picture it painted of Jamaican culture and politics over the decades. |

Although I've seen it quite a few times over the years, I just watched (in it's entirety) Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Is it me or is that 15 y.o. chick quite the slut. I'd hate to think my little girl was sneaking out at night for sex with a 26 year old. Holy crap someone would be gettin beat up.
