The only gripe I guess you could say I have is the fact that the second half kind of diverges off the path that the first half set but it in no means takes away from the film.

Yeah it's pretty blatant. The second half feels like a fairly conventional sci fi story but with a fresh feel.

I didn't like the prosthetic stuff on JGL face. It was unnecessary and looked like make-up too often. Same goes for the 80's aesthetic. Movie wasn't as gripping as i had expected until the ending.

The Descent
Solid flick. It's pretty no-bullshit horror - brief, but informative introduction followed by a deep sense of foreboding followed by intense, nonstop terror and violence. The creatures were pretty well-designed and believable, while the violence and gore was expertly handled. Acting was a little subpar at times, but for a fairly low-budget horror film, I'm not going to complain. 7.5/10

The Hunger Games! And it surprised me. I enjoyed it. Didn't think I would.

That movie was awesome back in the day. My Mom wouldn't let me watch it until my Dad intervened (I think I was 8 or 9). I should probably give it another watch soon.

I hadn't seen the film for ages and loved it. Apart from the action sequences, I like the way Spielberg portrays the commercialism of the park, with bright coloured uniforms, gaudy vehicles, lunch boxes in the gift shop and the distinctive logo.

Picked up these two on DVD over the weekend

An incredible film that had me hooked from start to finish. There's a great sense of mystery throughout film and there's some good fight sequences too. But it was the twist at the end that really made the film for me. Apparently there's an American remake in production but I can't imagine it being anywhere near as good as this.

A fairly simple overall plot but it's all the little clever details and offbeat moments that make this a very charming, funny and entertaining film. The central character is a brilliant creation and is the type of character you could fall in love with, but all the characters in this film are very odd and entertaining.
