I'm glad someone else went to go see it. I was a little saddened when I saw it was going up against The Expendables 2 because this happened in 2010 with Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, but the box office for this movie has been better than expected, which makes me happy because I don't want Liaka Animation to go under. As of right now it's probably my favourite movie of the year, but I'm sure that title will go to someone else once the pre-Christmas season movies start coming out.

Ask FETCHING, she was the last person to get the book and the last post in the P.I.F. Book Club was hers asking who wanted the book next.

I saw Dredd (3D) last night at cinema, it was awful, but nice to have my first 3D movie experience, out the way. Crap plot, (with many holes) **** acting, and a **** antagonist, her facial expressions and make-up were awful. The film was made to exploit 3D, It's a shame because a lot of the comic book movies have been good recently. Anyway I wont be seeing another 3D film, I think 3D screens should be like the pink floyd music only for when your stoned...

i saw the trailer and decided I am NOT gonna watch that

Dredd looks like some sort of Black Ops operative

they should use the same costume as in the comic, and place him as a Judge, Jury and Executioner, not some Special Tactics guy

I agree, the only reason I went to see it was because I had been in my flat for a week and was getting cabin fever so when my friend phoned up and asked if I wanted to see it I was desperate to get out of the flat.

I really enjoyed this nice little stop-motion animated flick, and I usually do end up enjoying films like this. It's a very visually impressive film with a lot of detail put into it seemingly, I can imagine it took a lot of time and work to make but it was certainly worth the effort by the looks of it. The overall feeling that the film gives is dark and trippy, and sometimes plain bizarre. But it does have a nice light-hearted touch to it and it's clever humour and sense of adventure gives it a wide appeal.

If the trailers were anything to go by it does look like it would be an awful film, seems like more of a 3D cash-in job to me. The original Judge Dredd film from 1995 was a complete flop as well.

Actually, I believe it was Papillon (1973) that had the first decapitation.

Moonrise Kingdom

This was lovely, as expected. It's my favorite Anderson since The Life Aquatic.

If it's playing in your area you should go see ParaNorman. It's made by the same animation studio and is a very worthy followup to Coraline.
