I watched Grave Encounters (2011) last night. I'm not exactly a connoisseur of horror movies, but I suspect it's one of those movies that's sort of a middling meh to anyone who knows their stuff about horror. Considering it is a found footage movie, it obviously borrows a lot from The Blair Witch Project. I'll admit the movie sucked me in, but the scariness kinda got neutered after the movie actually ended. None of the imagery stuck with me for long, and now I've got a craving for a legitimately heady, psychological-type horror or thriller/suspense movie. So I'll probably just watch Eraserhead or something.

I just watched One For The Money. Pretty good, actually.

Great film. The lead actor gave a very haunting performance and the cinematography was overwhelmingly good. The plot got a bit muddled and some questions were left unanswered but it really didn't distract from the film at all. It's on instant netflix so no excuse not to see this gem from last year. 8.5/10 |
Dark Knight Rises was pretty average. It was one of the more over-the-top movies I've seen in a while, and it certainly dragged on way too long. Still though, it had some solid action and I really dug Bane as the villain. 6.5/10

Van Helsing. Meh ...the vampires are kind cliché-looking, and over-all pretty plain.

Red-"You don't think I can take danger?" Saul-"You can" Red-"Yes, I can. You see this *shows hairless armpits* No hair." Dale-"What's the significance of that?" Red-"It makes me aerodynamic when I fight. I can take danger." :D Epic. |

I loved it. I don't know why it took me so long to buy it. I think my favorite will always be Chewed Up though. |
