The movie is a masterpiece of terror /suspense /Beautifully filmed & acted. Comparisons to reality are not "allowed" when reviewing a film like this. To me this truly is Polanski's best work, and it has survived the test of time.
I was automatically driven into an extremely creepy place from the opening credits, to the moment a dresser drawer was mysteriously blocking a closet door towards the beginning, and it only got more intense with every passing scene. Long story short, I loved it |

In theatres, the last movie I went to see is The Dark Knight Rises. I was very impressed, and loved the portrayal of Bane. I'm also a Ra's Al-Ghul nut, so that aspect of the storyline got a lot of love from me.
I rewatched The Silence of the Lambs, and always seem to forget how much the night vision goggles scene freaks me out. I don't know about everyone else, but that particular scene is difficult for me to watch. I cringe the whole time, and it's probably only a minute or two, but it always feels to me like that part lasts fifteen minutes at least.

The Dark Knight Rises
I love Batman and I love Christopher Nolan, but this movie was kind "meh" for me. It had its moments, mostly toward the end, but not enough of them. I got really tired of Tom Hardy's performance about halfway through and felt that too many key characters got short shrift here—Gordon, Alfred, Talia, even Batman himself—while the film dragged on with unnecessary side plots. Also, I learned that setting a Batman movie mostly during the day is just not a very good idea. |

Besides all the characters you listed the only side plot involved levitt, what other side plots were there? I don't know what depth they could have added to any of the mentioned characters to make the film stronger. Everybody's entire life is explained more or less during the film, you really wanted more alfred exposition? I just saw the film for a second time today and am enthused, don't feel obligated to respond Last edited by Sparky; 07-29-2012 at 11:58 PM. |

Because a dark and menacing character who wears a cape and cowl can actually look cool at night. Daylight just makes you start thinking about how silly looking he really is. Doing his crimefighting at night is a pretty core element of the character. After watching this movie, I now know why.

I thought the middle of the movie felt, simultaneously, incomplete and overly long. |
