I've recommended this movie before, but the 2008 French film Martyrs is easily one of the most twisted movies I have seen in a very long time. Not quite sure if it's on the same level as Antichrist (2009) or A Serbian Film (2010) but it definitely had a profound impact on me. It's like all the Saw and Hostel films combined then multiplied by 1000 in terms of brutality.

Pete have you seen any of the August Underground films?.....i don't normally suggest them....as they really are that bad....esp. the second one 'Mordom'.....but if sick and "twisted" is what you are looking for you might as well go all the way and watch the closest thing to depraved snuff that you'll ever be able to find.....the first one has tons of boring filler and the third one has production value.....but the second one makes even the worst scene's in A Serbian Film seem PG-13

but August Underground: Mordom still falls short of Salo for most disturbing film ever made....which i find very odd

as for Martyrs....Lee and i have actually discussed this film a few times now in pm.....and i think we both agree that it is sooooo much more than a shock/horror flick....its genuine and original and by far one of the best horror films i've ever seen.....certainly the best with the last few years.....the unrelenting feeling throughout the entire movie is so rare it's almost welcomed with open arms

am i the only person that finds Antichrist in no way shape or form disturbing?....i feel like it's a perfect composition of the wondrous clash of the (vile) human condition and nature's (perfect) entropy.....the only disturbing part of it i saw was the characters themselves sand how ironically perfect they played an adam/eve archetype

another just fucking odd movie that really leaves an impression is Sheitan.....after the first time i saw it....i sat there laughing and saying out loud...."What the fuck did i just watch?"....great flick and as always proof of what an amazing and multi talented man Vincent Cassel is

I saw that Kevin Bacon was in it. I liked his role, it was more dark than what i'm used to.

A very twisted version of Alice in Wonderland.

Just a typical thriller, but I really enjoyed it.
