Hellboy II - 5.5/10

The whole time I'm watching this I'm thinking, "Man I wish I was watching The Dark Knight right now."
Awful pacing, tone, story direction, and half of the cast are painful to hear speak (Selma Blair, Anna Walton).
But the action scenes are fantastic and the special effects are some of the best I've seen in a while.

Just as bad as the first, but it's good in being bad.

The story of Tony Wilson and Factory records and the Manchester music scene. Steve Coogan does a great job as Tony and all the cameo's from the real life People such as Mark E. Smith, Howard Devoto, and Tony Wilson himself make the film at lot of fun. Plus the charcter of Tony frequently talks to the camera, which makes you feel part of the scene, and a feel with what's going on.

^^^

Michael Winterbottom is an incredible director and rarely fits into one particular genre. He has made Documentaries (The Road To Guantanamo), Cerebral Sci-Fi (Code 46), True life political dramas (A Mighty Heart) and even a music/shag-a-thon hybrid (9 songs). One of the U.K's most consistent and interesting directors working today.

amelie in the theaters. I had already seen it, but it was nice to see it on a big screen.

Werckmeister Harmonika

Great dark and languid film by Hungarian director Bela Tarr. Very highly recommended.

I also watched Code 46, that was an odd experience. Pretty poorly executed overall.

Really? Considering it's very low budget i thought they done a good job and it was nice to see Joe Strummer pop up in a Cameo.

Oh man, I've been pumping myself up to see this but all reports seem to say that Tarr makes some long ass slow films...:|

Saw Batman.

It was great, Heath Ledger was perfect. At the ending it seems like they tried to much, coulda made 2 movies out of it.

Yeah it's slow but in the same kind of way Tarkovsky or Antonioni is slow, like every shot has to be held as long as possible to get its weight. So still good.
