no, if you don't understand the movie, you wouldn't glean much more info off the comics |

Something that came up late at night on local tv. I only saw the 1st half but it seemed bizarre and fun enough to warrant watching the whole thing.

But surely you understand that given the way the film was presented, like a video game/comic book superhero kind of a film and the nature of some of the fight scenes, like the "rock-off" one, that for someone who had no idea what to expect from the film it was all a little bizarre.
I don't NEED to get why it was done that way. I enjoyed the film. I was just curious whether or not a familiarity with the comic books beforehand would have helped me to understand why they made the film they did. |

John Landis (An American Werewolf In London etc), good start. Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis - even better. Cameos galore (Ray Harryhausen, Bill Bailey, Paul Whitehouse etc) - bigger smiles. A story ripe for comedy that was absolute tosh. It looks fantastic but it failed on every level. Awful.

Bill Murray made an excellent Hunter. This is one of the best roles I've seen Murray do. He did some solid acting here. How often can you say that about Murray? :P |
