I've been getting into British gangster films recently. Snatch & Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels are both brilliant.

I watched Ichi the Killer again the other day too.

I saw Harsh Times last night, it was terrible. It was almost laughably bad.

With a few exceptions this was all done before with 70's exploitation films.

Last House on The Left.
Living Dead At The Manchester Morgue ( actually a Zombie film but has hints).
Fight For Your Life.
Facination.
Vampyres.
Death Wish.
I Spit On Your Grave.
Blind Dead Collection.
Cannibal Holocaust.
Deep River Savages.
Suspiria.
Don't Torture A Duckling.
Psychomania.
Horror Hospital.
Deep Red.
New York Ripper.
Zombi.
The Beyond. ( one of the best horror films ever)

Just a few and some are 80's and not exploitation but they are Horror and are a little less unknown!

You really need to watch the originators:

Brighton Rock.
Villian.
Get Carter.
The Long Good Friday.
Mona Lisa.

also seek out the less known:

Shooters (directed by Dan Reed, no the inferior similar named out at the same time).

Great cult American Gangster films:

Ash Wednesday
The Killers.
Phoenix.
