I have rarely come across an artist that consistently delivers in whatever medium he chooses to explore whether it is murals, sculpture, paint or indeed, media manipulation.

I admire his anonymity even more after this doc. He could have made this his film and come out and proclaim himself as the main influence for MBW and take the plaudits but instead he still obscures his face and voice and remains both witty and understated as well as ever illusive.

You still can't help warming to Thierry Guetta though!

You know, there's a theory that's been put forth that it really is a Banksy film in the strict sense and that Thierry Guetta isn't even a real person, just a character.

That's what I alluded to in the 'who the joke is on' comment. Who the hell is being fooled in all this?

I can't wait to see this again.

Man the ending is so, so great. Plus I liked the atmosphere and the acting was above par too. 8/10

"Mahler"- Ken Russell...

The man is a genius. I've been on a huge Ken Russell Binge, and apart from Lair of the White Worm(which wasn't a bad movie, good in it's own way), everything I've seen from him has been excellent. How he's not considered up there with guys like Kubrick, and Coppola, and such, I don't know.

The man knows how to take the usually dry unbearably boring genre of 'Composer Biopic' and breath new realms into it. Unlike Lisztomania, this as a bit less tongue-in-cheek, but absolutely brilliant, legit funny at points, and entirely seamless.

One day, sometime surely The Devils will get a release and I for one will be happy as a pig in crap, especially if it's completely uncut.

-Was ultimately underwhelmed. I'd give it about a 7, because it really wasn't bad - but it did nothing at all to knock me off my feet. Really average with some good acting and a good premise.

And for fun, I watched:

- Which, considering my low expectations, was actually pretty good.

A brilliant animated fantasy written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, who also wrote and directed Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. As with any of his films this is rich in meaning, detail and is visually spectacular. The story is quite complex and can be difficult to grasp at times but does a great job of addressing the relationship between humans and mother nature.

Glad i read your review on Contagion. Was seriously contemplating seeing it this weekend. Now it will be a blu ray rental at some point.

Pretty awesome movie. It knew it was gonna be artsy, but I never expected it to be as much as it was. But that wasn't a bad thing. Really slow, but not boring, the first 40ish minutes. The pawn shop scene is when the movie goes into a higher gear (see what I did there?!) and stays there. BRUTAL violence and really great lighting and cinematography. Pretty good acting all around. If I would compare it to anything, it would be the pacing of Breaking Bad, the look of Enter the Void and the atmosphere of There Will Be Blood.

8.5/10

Turns out you were wrong. This movie sucked.
