Drive is a truly remarkable film- Stylish and tense all the way through. Best film I've seen for a long time and it has put Ryan Gosling in to my list of top actors.

Believe the hype!

Watched "Three...Extremes" which is a Japanese 3 part short horror film collection.

The Box - sucked, generic, boring

Dumplings - ****ing amazing.

Cut - Godlike incredible(then again, it's Park Chan-****ing-Wook)

So, there I was, thinking about how cool Prometheus is gonna be next year (surely), so I thought I'd watch these ol' chestnuts back-to-back again;

^ It's absolutely remarkable how well they both hold up to this day. And for anyone who doesn't know, the 2 1/2 hour-long director's cut of Aliens is a lot better than the theatrical one.

And I'm about to watch this;

^ I was just googling this title for a screenplay I'm doing to see if it's been taken or not already (it hasn't, as I'm sure you really wanted to know) and this film's imdb page came up. It stars Aaron 'Twoface/That Dude In the Core' Eckhart and Helena Bonham Carter, and it's got a 7.0/10 rating on imdb - not bad for a film I'd never heard of before today.

Beautiful, amazing darkly humorous film.

i was just mostly going through the chores of watching yet another superhero-related movie and found that it's a strong contender with Toy Story 3 for that year's best animated movie

Right?! I put off watching it for so long because it looked so formulaic, but it was a huge surprise. I've watched it again since I posted it here.

if you liked Dumplings, watch the full-length version as well, more sex and grotesqueness, and even the ending is different

You should, Ken Russell is a strange genius.

^^and oh yeah Three Extremes is Asian, not just Japanese, and is actually a sequel, I wouldn't bother with the first comp cos it's rather boring

The Box is Japanese and done by Takashi Miike
Dumplings is from Hong Kong and done by Fruit Chan
Cut is of course Korean

Actually, that's a rather embarrassing oversight by myself. Especially since the point of the film is to represent 3 nationalities perspectives.

As for any prequel, I just picked this up for Wook, and Dumplings was just a pleasant addition. I'm curious though, has Fruit Chan done anything else for me to look into?
